Harper Wilson
Eight-year-old Harper Wilson loves lacrosse. She loves it so much that she practices even while she battles leukemia. Harper started playing when she was 5. Her leukemia diagnosis meant she had to leave home and her Tri-Cities team – 3 Rivers Lacrosse -- and move into the Ronald McDonald House while she receives treatment at Seattle Children’s hospital.
She practices cradling the ball and keeps three lacrosse sticks in her room, two for her older sisters when they visit. Harper’s determination led to a visit by the Washington women’s lacrosse team. Her unbreakable spirit, positive attitude and sunny disposition have greatly impressed staffers at the Ronald McDonald House. She is an inspiration to everyone around her.
