Sports Equity & Inclusion Award

Presented in partnership with King County Play Equity Coalition, the recipient is an individual or organization that has served the region by designing and implementing system-level change to engage youth and families historically marginalized from sports. Nominations are closed October 13th!

The winner of the award will be celebrated at the 91st Annual Sports Star of the Year Awards on March 13, 2026. Event details and ticket info at seattlesports.org.

Inspirational Youth

This award honors a young Washingtonian who exemplifies the power of sports to uplift and inspire others in their community. The recipient is a youth who has overcome significant challenges through personal resilience, character, and connection to sports.

Qualifications for Honoree Candidates:

  • Washingtonian - Primary residence is in the State of Washington.
  • Youth - Between the ages of 0-18 years of age in the applicable sports season.
  • Power of Sports - Has a significant personal connection to sports, whether as an athlete, fan, volunteer, or advocate.
  • Obstacles/challenges - The challenges faced or identified are not to be weighed against each other (weighted suffering). Rather, it is the manner of inspiration and/or change a candidate has instilled as a result of their character in the face of challenges.
  • Uplift and Inspire - Inspiration can come in many ways. Candidates can inspire a change in the mindset of others, encourage confidence, create a program that helps others, etc.

*You can submit multiple nominations – complete a new form for each candidate you would like to nominate. - Voting closes October 13th.

WISE Seattle’s Women of Inspiration program exemplifies our desire to leave a lasting impact on future generations. The focus of this yearly accolade is to honor and recognize a woman in our community who is doing something notable to support young women while aligning with our chapter’s vision and core pillars to ENCOURAGE, EMPOWER, and EVOLVE.
